What is the Patriot missile system increasing Putin’s tension in the Ukraine war?

First understand what is Patriot Air Defense System?
It is an automatic defense system, which includes high mobility artillery rocket system, 30 mortar systems, 37 Cougar Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles, six armored trucks , high-speed anti-radiation missiles, more than 2,700 grenade launchers and small arms, night vision devices and optics, and body armor.

Why its deployment only?
This defense missile system is one of the best defense systems in the world. It is deployed to shoot down enemy ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and fighter jets in a jiffy. Capable of shooting down a missile up to 150 km from its point of deployment.

It is made by America and many versions of it are currently included in the fleet of American Air Force. America is supporting Ukraine in Russia-Ukraine war, so Patriot missile defense system has been given to Ukraine.

How it works?
Patriot missile system works in 3 phases. First – radar, second – control station and third – missile launcher. 

1. Radar- Surveillance radar tracks enemy missiles up to 150-160 km away. Then instructs the control station.

2. Control station – The control station tracks the complete information of the missile (for example, how powerful it is and how much speed it has). After tracking, instructs the missile launcher.

3. Missile Launcher- After receiving instructions from the control station, the missile launcher gets ready in 9 seconds. There are 16 missiles in the launcher, which immediately kills the missile present in the radar.

Use from Gulf War to Free Iraq
This defense missile system has been used from Gulf War to Free Iraq mission. It was because of the Patriot missile system that Saddam Hussein lost power in Iraq. 

Iraq was destroyed in the Gulf War- In 1990, Iraq captured the Gulf country Kuwait. At that time the ruler of Iraq was Saddam Hussain. After this decision of Iraq, 34 countries including America, Israel formed an alliance. 

After the announcement of the alliance, Iraq intensified attacks on Israel and Saudi Arabia. In view of the rocket attack, America deployed the Patriot missile system here for the first time. This missile system shot down all the rockets and missiles of Iraq. 

Saddam lost power in the Free Iraq Movement- In 2003, the Free Iraq mission against dictator Saddam Hussain was started. American and British soldiers were also involved in this mission. Hussain’s army launched rapid attacks on America and Britain.

After this attack, America deployed Patriot missile. Patriot destroyed all the missiles and rockets of Iraq. After this American soldiers arrested Saddam. He was later hanged.
