Saudi’s Crown Prince Pakistan Visit: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud’s visit to Pakistan has been postponed. On Saturday (November 12), Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has confirmed in a statement issued in this regard that the itinerary of the visit is being rescheduled.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that the new dates would be finalized by both the sides. The Crown Prince was invited by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif during a telephonic conversation between the two in September. This would have been the first visit of the Saudi Crown Prince to Pakistan after the change of government in Pakistan in April this year.

Expected to get big bailout package

Diplomatic sources had said that Pakistan was expected to receive a bailout package of $4.2 billion from Riyadh during the visit of the Saudi Crown Prince. The Saudi leader’s visit was tentatively scheduled for November 21. In addition, Saudi Arabia was also expected to make solid investments in Pakistan. Sources also said that several Pakistan-Saudi petroleum agreements were being finalized to be signed during the visit of the Crown Prince.

The Pakistan government was also eyeing a possible deal that would help it secure financial support from Saudi Arabia for setting up a state-of-the-art refinery in Gwadar. The Crown Prince last visited Pakistan in February 2019 during the tenure of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is taking out a long march in the country opposing the government.
