PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif has authorized Maryam Nawaz and Home Minister Rana Sanaullah to hold rallies and meetings in Punjab before the upcoming elections.
A Pakistan Muslim League-N leader from Punjab told Dawn newspaper that Maryam Nawaz’s promotion to the party was a clear signal from Nawaz Sharif to the faction led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that his successor would be Maryam Nawaz and not her.

In the newspaper news, this leader has been quoted as saying, after all Maryam will lead the party because this is the wish of PML-N’s supreme leader (Nawaz). The new post given to her (Maryam Nawaz), especially the chief organiser, has already authorized her to run the party as per her wish.
The Punjab leader said, “The influence of Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Sharif in party affairs will decrease in the days to come. She (Maryam Nawaz) will be the top boss of the party.” It is being told that after the humiliating defeat of Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the by-election last year, Maryam was also keen to take the party affairs in her own hands in Punjab.
