Pakistan IMF Deal: Pakistan, which is facing economic crisis, now rests its hopes on the International Monetary Fund (IMF). On the request of the Pakistani government, the IMF delegation has come to Islamabad, where the officials of both are conducting the 9th review of the loan program of seven billion dollars. Pakistani Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said on Thursday (February 9) that there is a final round meeting between them today.
Speaking to the media, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said, “Our government is moving forward on the deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation.” Today, the ninth review of the $7 billion loan program between the two is expected to be completed.
Responding to a question on how the discussions with the IMF delegation were going, he said, “Everything is going well. I am telling you that our final round is going on. I meet them (IMF team) every day and Will meet you even today.
‘Now our hopes can be fulfilled’
Dar said on Thursday (February 9), “Our hope can be fulfilled. It is expected that all the matters will be resolved today. We will tell you about it very soon.” The Finance Minister was answering questions from journalists after addressing a conference in Islamabad.
IMF team is in Islamabad for a week
Let us tell you that the IMF delegation had reached Islamabad last week, since then the Pakistani government is eyeing the green signal for the loan.
PM had said – we have no other way
Earlier, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had described the conditions of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as “beyond imagination”. He had said that such conditions have been placed before us, which are difficult to fulfill, but we do not have any other way.
