Nepal Election 2022: Members Of Nine Politically Influential Families In Nepal In The Fray

Nepal Election Update: General elections are going to be held in Nepal on 20 November. Regarding this, nine politically influential families in Nepal have made their family members candidates. This information has been received from party sources and the website of the Election Commission.

Senior leaders who have fielded their family members in parliamentary elections include Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is contesting from the Dadeldhura-1 constituency. He has made his wife Arju Deuba a candidate under the proportional electoral system.

Along with this, Pushkamal Dahal Prachanda, President of the Nepali Communist Party- Maoist Center (CPN-MC), who himself is in the fray from Prachanda Gorkha-2 constituency, has nominated his daughter-in-law Bina Magar from Kanchanpur-1. On the other hand, Nepal’s Home Minister Balkrishna Khand and CPN-MC leader Devendra Paudyal have fielded their wives Manju Khand and Balavati Sharma respectively under the proportional election system.

This decision has been taken with the aim of ensuring peaceful elections. From the night of 17 November till 12 midnight of 20 November, all the borders of Nepal connected with India have been sealed. This decision was taken in the meeting of the concerned officials of India and Nepal.
