Iran Mohsen Shekari Death Penalty: Violent protests over the Hijab controversy continue in Iran. Iran’s hardline government has started taking strict measures to stop the protesters. In this connection, a 23-year-old youth Mohsin Shekari was hanged to create fear among the protesters there.
It was informed by Iran’s official news agency Mizan that the charge against the accused youth for blocking a road in Tehran and attacking a security force soldier was proved. That’s why the young man was hanged on the charges of interfering in government work.
It was told by the government of Iran that this is the first such death sentence in such cases. The government appeals to the protesters not to create ruckus. In spite of this, if the protesters continue to create hooliganism like this on the road, then the government will be forced to take such strict measures. Actually, Iran has tried to give a direct challenge to the protestors and create fear in them by giving death sentence to the youth.

Most of the youth are involved in the protest. 23-year-old Mohsen Shekhri was also among those protesting against the policies of the government in Iran. The police detained him on 25 September during the demonstration. After being kept in jail for a few days, the revolutionary court of Tehran convicted Mohsen Shekhri. The court tried him in camera and accused him of assaulting security forces and killing a soldier during protests.
In this in-camera court action against Mohsen Shekhri on November 20, he was declared guilty of waging war against God under Iranian law. After this he was hanged on Thursday (8 November).

Actually, the reason behind this ongoing protest in Iran is the death of a 22-year-old girl in police custody. Iran’s police arrested Mahsa Amini on September 16 for violating hijab rules. After his arrest, Mahsa Amini died in police custody under suspicious circumstances. After his death, a series of protests started in Iran. People are protesting against the government on the streets. Among them, the maximum number of youth is being told. According to information, the government has so far detained more than 18,000 people to quell the protests that started after Mahsa Amini’s death in police custody on September 16.
