Indian-American Usha Reddi Becomes Senator In USA Kansas State On Friday 13 January

He has been made a senator in place of Senator Tom Hawke of Manhattan. Tom Hawke announced his retirement from the Legislature last month after a long time. Usha Reddy tweeted even after becoming a senator that I was sworn in as the State Senator of District 22 Cannes this afternoon. I am very happy that my family was also present during the oath ceremony.

After becoming a Senator, Usha Reddy said that it has been a very exciting night. I am thrilled to lead Senate District 22. Thanking former Senator Tom Hawk, he said that I respect him for his dedicated service. He led the community with true love and built strong relationships with people. He is a wonderful leader. I am sure I will be in touch with him.

Usha Reddy’s family immigrated to the US from India in 1973

Usha Reddy has served on the Manhattan City Commission since 2013 and has been mayor twice. Previously, she was a teacher at Manhattan-Ogden Public Schools, where she served as president of its National Education Association chapter. He earned bachelor’s degrees in psychology and elementary education and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Kansas State University. Usha Reddy will serve out the remainder of Senator Hawke’s term, which ends in 2025. In the coming days, the works of Reddy’s committee will be announced. Usha Reddy’s family had reached America from India in 1973. Then she was only eight years old. She has lived in Manhattan for over 28 years.
